The Waltz Kicks Off National Tour at Factory Theatre

Toronto’s favourite onstage rom-com is returning to Factory Theatre this fall.
The Waltz, written by Marie Beath Badian and directed by Nina Lee Aquino, will return to the Factory Theatre mainstage from September 6-17, once more starring Anthony Perpuse as RJ and Ericka Leobrera as Bea.
The critically acclaimed production will then tour to Prairie Theatre Exchange in Winnipeg and the Great Canadian Theatre Company in Ottawa.
It’s 1993, and teenager Romeo Alvarez is travelling across the country from Scarborough to Vancouver for university. Guilted by his mom into visiting old family friends, Romeo makes a pit stop in Saskatchewan, where he ultimately meets the mysterious Bea Klassen. The Waltz is a dazzling tale of love, fate, and family, playing out under the magnificent Saskatchewan sky with more than a hint of nostalgia for the 1990s.
Tickets prices for The Waltz at Factory Theatre range from $20 – $80, and include a limited number of $0 tickets for every performance. Audiences are invited to select the ticket price option that works best for them to experience the show.

A sand dune rises under the Gardiner for Sand Flight, a dance show premiering this June
This spring, the Bentway will present the world premiere of Sand Flight, a large-scale outdoor performance by Norwegian choreographer Ingri Fiksdal and theatre director Jonas Corell Petersen. The production features eight dancers and a 50-person community choir performing atop a constructed sand dune.
