Every Next Stage Show Described in Ten Words
This year, the Fringe’s Next Stage Theatre Festival celebrates its ten-year anniversary. In celebration of the special occasion, each of the ten productions in the festival described their shows using only ten words.
1 – BLOOD TIES (Edge of the Sky):
Something old, something new, something borrowed, and, finally, someone dead.
2 – CLIQUE CLAQUE (Pea Green Theatre Group):
Cunning Claque crooks create cash cow clapping coercively at concerts.
3 – DATE ME (Ted&Lisa):
Love. Improv. World premiere. Dating. Reality. Strange. Interesting. Online. Tears.
4 – THE DEATH OF MRS. GHANDI AND THE BEGINNING OF NEW PHYSICS (A POLITICAL FANTASY) (Everything but the Bard):
A hilarious satire about powerful women who changed the world.
5 – MANICPIXIEDREAMGIRLS (Rock Bottom Movement):
Cult-classic dance for the dream girl in all of us.
6 – MY BIG FAT GERMAN PUPPET SHOW (Invisible Inc):
Hilarious. Odd. Touching. Twisted. A former Jim Henson’s Muppets puppeteer.
7 – SILK BATH (Silk Bath Collective):
Can immigrants ever really get rid of the “outsider” label?
8 – SONGBUSTER – AN IMPROVISED MUSICAL (Songbuster Inc.):
Witness the performers discover songs and stories when you do.
9 – TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE (Pressgang Theatre):
Three outrageous stories, one of which is a dirty lie.
10 – WESTERN: A PLAY WITH MUSIC (The Harvey Dunn Campfire):
Magical. Ballad. Wild. Run. Regret. Death. Unknown. Accident. Determination. Adventure.
Next Stage Theatre Festival is on at Factory Theatre from January 4 to 15.
