Theatre Calgary announces 2025–26 season

The 2025-26 season at Theatre Calgary features six productions, including a world premiere musical, a contemporary Canadian classic, and the return of a sold-out comedy.

“Our 2025-26 season is rife with magic, laughs, mystery, drama, and music,” wrote artistic director Stafford Arima in a press release sent out this afternoon. “We’ve carefully curated a lineup that will appeal to the widest range of Calgary audiences, featuring both fresh and familiar stories.”

Made in Italy

Martha Cohen Theatre

Farren Timoteo returns to Theatre Calgary with his one-performer comedy about family, tradition, and food. Featuring over 25 characters, Made in Italy is a heartfelt exploration of growing up in an Italian family in Alberta.

Dial M for Murder

Adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the story by Frederick Knott

Max Bell Theatre

A Hitchcock-inspired thriller about love, betrayal, and deadly consequences. When Tony suspects his wife may be cheating on him, a shocking chain of events unfolds. Produced in partnership with Arts Club Theatre Company.

A Christmas Carol

Max Bell Theatre

The holiday favourite returns with Doug McKeag as Scrooge, stunning sets, and heartwarming performances. Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, who take him on a journey through his life to confront his greed and cold-heartedness. Facing visions of his lonely future, Scrooge must decide whether to change his ways before it’s too late.

The Tale of the Gifted Prince (World premiere)

In this new musical, Prince Ren embarks on a perilous quest to save his father’s throne. Armed with five humble gifts and guided by a shaman, he faces a series of trials that reveal the true power of compassion and wisdom. Presented in partnership with Somerled Arts.

A Doll’s House (Canadian premiere)

Max Bell Theatre

This adaptation of Ibsen’s groundbreaking play explores the unraveling of a seemingly perfect marriage. Nora Helmer’s decision to break free from societal expectations leads to an unexpected conclusion that continues to resonate with modern audiences. Produced in partnership with Arts Club Theatre Company.

Come From Away

Book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein

May 26 – June 21, 2026
Max Bell Theatre

Based on true events following 9/11, the beloved Canadian musical  tells the story of 7,000 stranded passengers whose flights were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland. The townspeople opened their homes and hearts to the travelers, forming unexpected friendships in the midst of the crisis.

Crow’s Theatre announces packed 2025-26 season, including major partnership with Soulpepper

Canadian Stage reveals 2025-26 programming
