Casting Announcement: Scapegoat Collective’s Cloud
This fall, Scapegoat Collective is launching their first original production, Cloud, written and directed by artistic director Daniel Pagett.
Starting with a small group of people and expanding to the population of Earth, Cloud tells of humanity’s discovery of a practical collective consciousness—a more efficient internet, where files are shared in real time, directly to the brain, “the Cloud.” Not just audio and visuals, but thought files, emotion files, tactile files. What does empathy mean when it is immediately informed by another human’s real-time experience? What does that do to love? To hate? Can we still disagree once our entire life experience is unified? Won’t it get lonely when we’re all one?
The ensemble cast features Anand Rajaram as the narrator and performances from Tim Fitzgerald Walker, Khadijah Roberts-Abdullah, Jonas Widdifield, G. Kyle Shields, Alexander Plouffe, and Ally Caruso.
Premiering at Artscape Sandbox this fall, Cloud will be running from October 20 to November 5, with choreography by Ashleigh Powell, fight direction by Nate Bitton, set and costume design by Lindsay Dagger Junkin, sound design and original composition by Andy Trithardt, and lighting design by Melissa Joakim.
Early bird tickets are available through the company’s Indiegogo campaign.
